ABOUT ME
I am Andrea Lorenti, a luthier whose story begins with my passion for the electric bass, an instrument I began playing at the age of fourteen. My training began right after high school, with attendance at a classical violin making class.

Soon after, I had the opportunity to work in one of the mains lutherie workshop in the province of Turin, where I spent about four years learning the principles of electric guitar making. During this time, I devoted myself to my true passion, which was building and repairing guitars and basses, serving numerous musicians in the Piedmontese capital. This experience also led me to build the first basses that accompanied me on stages around the world with one of my main musical projects, the band Ultra-Violence. The stage has been an important testing ground for my instruments, allowing me to constantly improve them, taking my requirements as a bass player and luthier to the next level.

In 2018, I decided to start my own lutherie workshop, Moth, where every day, with dedication, I build unique instruments designed to inspire musicians. Moth Lutherie is the result of my constant quest to research, experiment and improve my products and services, a path that has led me to join master classes with renowned international master luthiers such as John Monteleone and Claudio & Claudia Pagelli to further deepen my craft and raise the quality of my instruments.

BUILDER OF SOUNDS, GROWER OF FORESTS

Commitment, respect and passion guide my work, and I extend these values to environmental sustainability as well. This is expressed in intentional limited and responsible production, in dedicating attention to create long lasting instruments, and in a strong interest in repairing and modifying existing instruments. Adding to this approach is a tangible commitment: for every instrument I create, I plant a tree through One Tree Planted, a concrete way to honor the natural resources I use and actively contribute to a more sustainable future.

In my workshop, you will find a place where no limit will ever be given to the time needed to discuss the needs of you and your instruments. I firmly believe in the musician-luthier relationship as the basis for fully understanding each client's needs and offering personalized, high-quality service, because only then can we grow together.
